Existing Safelog User? Safelog user in the past but let your subscription lapse?

Please read the choices below to see the scenario which best applies to you:

Questions that apply to those with current (not expired) Safelog for PC licenses

I am an existing Safelog PC user (my Safelog PC subscription has not yet expired) but my subscription is expiring soon. I want to extend my Safelog for PC subscription and also add a SafelogWeb (+ optionally BlackBerry / iPhone) subscription.

First of all, thank you for your continued use of Safelog. We most appreciate your patronage and pledge to do our best to continue to earn your business. Second, to do this and to get it at the best possible price, please do the following: first extend your Safelog for PC license by clicking here. Then, add SafelogWeb to your existing subscription by clicking here. Yes, this will get you at least as good a price as if you were to purchase the SafelogPC + SafelogWeb combo for new users, so please be sure to do it as we suggest here.

I am an existing Safelog PC user (my Safelog PC subscription has not yet expired) and want to now also use SafelogWeb (web-based logbook), Safelog for BlackBerry, and/or Safelog for iPhone.

Great! Using both Safelog for PC and SafelogWeb together will provide you with the maximum flexibility and security for your logbook. Plus, as an existing SafelogPC user, you get SafelogWeb at a significantly discounted price. Please click here to do this.

I am an existing SafelogPC user but have (for example) bought a Mac and want to change to SafelogWeb instead. How do I do this?

First of all, please know that many Mac users continue to use Safelog for PC by means of one of several 'fusion' / 'crossover' / 'Windows on Mac' tools. Maybe this will be a suitable solution for you? That said, if you are sure you want to use SafelogWeb, here is the situation. Your Safelog for PC subscription will remain valid for the time that you purchased it for previously – there is no facility to simply convert your license from one to another. However, as an existing Safelog for PC user, you can get SafelogWeb at a significant discount by clicking here. If you have your data now in SafelogPC, we suggest that you use this on a PC that you have access to after you get SafelogWeb, as this will result in your data being synchronized automatically with SafelogWeb, thus letting you get started right away in SafelogWeb.

What about Safelog for iPhone?

The browser version of Safelog for iPhone (www.safelogweb.com/iPhone) is free with SafelogWeb. Therefore, anything written on this page also applies to the iPhone web browser version of Safelog. That is to say, if you get a SafelogWeb account, you'll be able to access it on your iPhone by visiting www.safelogweb.com/iPhone from your iPhone.

Questions that apply to those who were Safelog for PC users but who let their licenses expire

I was a Safelog for PC user, but let my license lapse. How do I re-activate it?

Please click here to re-activate your Safelog for PC license. This works out much cheaper than trying to re-purchase anew. Re-activation requires that you have your unlock code from before – if you can't find it, don't worry – you can recover this automatically from the page to follow. Please do go to the trouble of doing this as we suggest here. DON'T just go and buy a new license, as this will both result in a higher price for you AND you will have created a duplicated account for yourself, which will complicate things. Again, if you have questions, please ask via our helpdesk – we're more than happy to help.

I was a Safelog for PC user in the past but my license lapsed. Now I want to re-activate it and also get SafelogWeb.

To do this, first re-activate your Safelog for PC license as described above. Then, follow the steps outlined a few questions above for the adding of SafelogWeb by existing Safelog for PC users. This will get you the service at the BEST POSSIBLE PRICE. Yes, you may have seen a 'combo' package for new Safelog users, but please trust us – doing it as we suggest will result in a price AT LEAST AS GOOD as this for you and not cause the technical headaches that you creating a duplicate account otherwise would cause.

I was a Safelog for PC user in the past but my license lapsed. However, now I got a Mac and so want to use only SafelogWeb. What is the best way to do this?

There are two ways to do this:

Method 1 (recommended method – generally works out cheaper and has other benefits) is to re-activate your Safelog for PC license (see two questions above). You can even re-activate this for as little as one year. Once you do this, you can get a SafelogWeb subscription (for as many years as you want) at the 'existing PC user price', which is a significant savings over the 'new user' price. Plus, if you then use Safelog for PC, this will synch with your SafelogWeb account, eliminating the need for you to re type things your data into SafelogWeb. Additionally, this will ensure that you have one consistent account in the system, which is a good thing.

Method 2 (not recommended, but it will work). Just sign up for a SafelogWeb account via www.SafelogWeb.com/SignUp. If you do this, you will have to pay the 'new user' fee for SafelogWeb and also your data will not synch from your existing Safelog for PC data so you will have to type it in anew. As you can see, we don't recommend this method, but it will work. Please note: if you find yourself here after having already purchased SafelogWeb via Method 2 but find yourself wishing that you had done so via Method 1, unfortunately we cannot reverse the process nor refund any difference. However, if you find yourself in this situation and have an existing data file from your old Safelog PC account, we might be able to import this for you into your Safelog Web account – please contact us via our helpdesk clearly explaining the situation if this applies to you. There may or may not be a service fee for this service depending on the complexity of your data and other factors.

Questions that apply to those with current (not expired) Safelog Web licenses

I am an existing Safelog Web user (I have paid for a SafelogWeb subscription and can log in at www.SafelogWeb.com) and want to add a Safelog for PC license. How can I do this in the most cost effective way?

First of all, thank you for your continued use of Safelog and for expanding your use throughout the Safelog system. By adding a PC subscription, you`;; have a more powerful, flexible, secure, and available Safelog experience.

To add Safelog for PC, simply go to the regular Safelog for PC order screen and purcahse a Safelog for PC license at the normal price. After purchase, you you will receive an activation keycode via email. Important when you go to activate the software, ensure that you use the same email address as with your SafelogWeb account. Then, once you`re in the software, click on 'web sync' and the system will prompt you through the steps of getting your data do from SafelogWeb and the two systems will begin interoperating nicey.

Are there any special offers for existing SafelogWeb users who want to add a Safelog for PC license?

Generally, yes. The usual offer that we offer is this - if you are an existing SafelogWeb user and buy Safelog for PC, after you activate and sync, you will get an additional year of subscription on BOTH your SafelogWeb and Safelog for PC accounts. To learn more about this, do this:
  • Log into your SafelogWeb account
  • Click on `subscription sttus` or `my account.`
  • If this offer is currently active, you will see a banner or link describing it. Click it and follow the directions there.
Please note that if you are an existing SafelogWeb user who purchases Safelog for web while this offer is activate, you will get these bonus years applied. However, if the offer is not valid at the time of your purchase (such as because you purchased in the past), unfortunately this is not retroactive. As of this writing, this offer will normally be active at all times, but if you want to be sure, just login to your SafelogWeb account as described before and look for the link/banner.

Question that applies to those who want Safelog for BlackBerry and/or iPhone

Safelog for BlackBerry synchronizes directly with SafelogWeb. Therefore, one MUST be a SafelogWeb user to use this service – there are no exceptions to this. If you are a Safelog for PC user but want to also use Safelog for BlackBerry, you must purchase a SafelogWeb account to use this. Please see the Safelog for BlackBerry pages for more details.

Safelog for iPhone/iPad native app synchronizes directly with SafelogWeb, or with Safelog PC via SafelogWeb; it does not require a SafelogWeb account for synchronizing with Safelog PC. Safelog for iPhone/iPad web portal access is included free with any SafelogWeb account. Please see the Safelog for iPhone pages pages for more details.
